Canada is a great country. Canadians have a lot to be proud of and thankful for. Despite what some claim, you do not have to be born in the U.S.A. for dreams to come true! It is definitely not the only land of opportunity!
Although Canada does not have a large population this country is the birthplace and home to many, many talented and productive individuals who have made a significant impact and contribution, not only in Canada, but around the world. Many remarkable stories of personal triumph and success have taken place right here in Canada.

Like all nations, Canada has encountered its challenges – for example, sharing the longest undefended border in the world with the planet’s current superpower! This, along with the Canada’s geography, may have been, and may continue to be, the two greatest challenges facing this country.
CANADA is the second largest country in the world, with a population 1/10th the size of its neighbour to the south, AND it’s the 8th least dense country in the world.
The Boundary between CANADA and the United States is the longest undefended (military) border in the world.
The name CANADA comes from the Iroquois word “Kanata” meaning “village” or “settlement”. It’s been in use since the 16th century when the French established a colony near Lake Ontario.
Did you know that British troops set the White House on fire in 1812 in retaliation for an American attack on the city of York (now Toronto)?!
